Of clean solar power
Launched by the Government of India in February 2024, PM Surya Ghar is the world's largest domestic rooftop solar programme. It aims to put solar on one crore homes by subsidising residential rooftop systems and giving participating households up to 300 units of free electricity every month. As an installer working under the scheme, Tersus Energy designs, installs, and commissions your system and guides your subsidy application from start to finish.
The central assistance is paid straight into your account through Direct Benefit Transfer once your system is commissioned.
A right-sized rooftop system can offset most of your monthly consumption, with up to 300 units covered.
Net metering credits the electricity your roof exports back to the grid against your bill.
Collateral-free loans at concessional rates (around 7%) are available for residential systems up to 3 kW.
Solar systems installed under the scheme keep generating clean power — and savings — for decades.
Every rooftop added under the scheme reduces grid demand and the country's carbon footprint.
| Rooftop system size | Central subsidy |
|---|---|
| Up to 1 kW | ₹30,000 |
| 2 kW | ₹60,000 |
| 3 kW and above | ₹78,000 (maximum) |
Housing societies and resident welfare associations can also claim ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities such as EV charging, for systems up to 500 kW. The subsidy is credited to your bank account after commissioning — typically within about 30 days.
