What is thePM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana?
Launched by the Government of India in February 2024, PM Surya Ghar is the world's largest domestic rooftop solar programme. It aims to put solar on one crore homes by subsidising residential rooftop systems and giving participating households up to 300 units of free electricity every month. As an installer working under the scheme, Tersus Energy designs, installs, and commissions your system and guides your subsidy application from start to finish.

How much subsidycan you get?

Housing societies and resident welfare associations can also claim ₹18,000 per kW for common facilities such as EV charging, for systems up to 500 kW. The subsidy is credited to your bank account after commissioning — typically within about 30 days.
Who is eligible, andwhat you'll need
Eligibility
- ✓You are an Indian citizen applying for a residential property.
- ✓You own the house and have rights to the rooftop.
- ✓You have an active electricity connection with your DISCOM.
- ✓Your household has not already availed another rooftop solar subsidy.
- ✓Your roof has enough shadow-free area (roughly 80 sq. ft. per kW).

How to apply —step by step
Register on the national portal
Sign up on pmsuryaghar.gov.in with your state, DISCOM, consumer number, and mobile number.
Apply for rooftop solar
Submit the online application with your roof details and preferred system size.
Get DISCOM feasibility approval
Your electricity distribution company reviews and approves the application.
Install with a registered vendor
Tersus Energy installs your system with certified, domestically manufactured panels.
Apply for net metering
Once installed, the net meter application goes in — we handle this step for you.
Inspection and commissioning
After DISCOM inspection, the portal issues your commissioning certificate.
Subsidy lands in your account
Submit your bank details on the portal; the subsidy arrives in about 30 days.
